About This Access Site
**Beaver Dam Lake** in Carlinville offers public boat access via a concrete ramp located on the west end of the lake. The facility includes a dock adjacent to the ramp for convenient loading and launching of boats, kayaks, and canoes. A separate parking area is provided for boat trailers. Note that this is a **trolling motor only lake**, so electric motors are the only motorized option permitted.

**Lake Character:** Beaver Dam Lake is a modest 56.6-acre impoundment with a 1.7-mile shoreline and relatively shallow water—maximum depth of 10 feet with an average depth of just 4 feet. These characteristics make it well-suited for kayaking, canoeing, and small recreational boats. The surrounding recreational area includes picnic tables under shelter, restrooms, a playground, and a designated swimming beach, making it a good option for families combining water access with day-use amenities.
