About This Access Site
Beaver Run provides boat ramp access to Little Elkhart Creek at Houston County Lake near Grapeland, Texas. Located approximately 10 miles northwest of Crockett, this 1,330-acre impoundment offers a reliable launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 40 feet and is part of the Trinity River drainage system, making it suitable for various water activities.

To reach Beaver Run, take FM 229 approximately 9 miles west from Loop 304 in Crockett, with the ramp situated on the north side of the dam. The site provides straightforward access for launching small craft. Paddlers should note that this is an impoundment created in 1966, so expect relatively calm, lake-like conditions rather than creek flow. The site works well for day trips, fishing excursions, and recreational boating on protected waters.
