About This Access Site
Located at 33A Front Street in downtown Belfast, this public boat ramp provides convenient water access to Belfast Bay and the surrounding Penobscot Bay area. The ramp is situated in the heart of town, making it an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. For assistance or after-hours inquiries, contact the Harbor Master on VHF channels 9 or 16. Be aware that harbor usage fees may apply—check current regulations before launching.

Beyond the water, Belfast offers excellent amenities for boaters and paddlers. The area features the scenic Harbor Walk and a nearly 3-mile Rail Trail that winds along the waterfront, crosses the pedestrian-friendly Armistice Bridge, and extends up the Passagassawakeag River. These trails are perfect for pre or post-paddle exploration, offering opportunities for walking, jogging, and biking. The downtown location provides access to local shops, restaurants, and services, making this a well-rounded destination for a day on the water.
