About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Ben Howard is located on the Skykomish River near Monroe, Snohomish County. From Monroe, drive south on SR-203, cross the Skykomish River Bridge, then turn left onto Ben Howard Road and continue approximately 2 miles to reach the access area. The launch is situated on the south bank of the river, several miles east of the Highway 203 junction.

**Launch Conditions & Usage:** This boat ramp primarily serves drift boats and rafts but is accessible to kayakers and canoeists. Be aware of an extreme drop-off at the end of the ramp during low tide conditions—use caution when launching or landing. The access area is **blocked outside of fishing seasons** to protect the gravel bar from vehicle damage, so check current regulations before planning your trip. The Skykomish River is a significant waterway with moderate flow and gradient, suitable for drift boating and paddling.

**Safety Considerations:** Cold water conditions on the Skykomish River require appropriate preparation; wear a life jacket and dress for immersion to prevent cold water shock and hypothermia. Check current water levels and seasonal access status before your visit.
