Benton Lake Boat Ramp
The Benton Lake boat ramp, also known as the Condon Lakes West access site, provides a popular entry point for paddlers, anglers, and recreational boaters in Newaygo County, Michigan. Located along the shores of the scenic Benton Lake, this facility features a concrete boat ramp and paved parking area.
While the access site itself is open year-round, please note that the high water levels on nearby Lake Michigan may impact the ability to pass under the railroad trestle bridge downstream from the launch. Paddlers may be able to navigate around the bridge abutment on river left, but should exercise caution due to strong currents and motorized boat traffic on the St. Joseph River.
For those looking to extend their visit, the Nichols Lake South Campground is located within 10 miles of the Benton Lake access site, providing a convenient place to camp and explore the surrounding natural areas known for excellent mushroom and berry foraging, as well as hunting and fishing opportunities.
