About This Access Site
The Big Creek boat ramp provides access to the Tellico River in Monroe County, Tennessee. This section of the Tellico River is a scenic, free-flowing mountain stream known for its excellent trout fishing and opportunities for paddling and boating.

The boat ramp is located off Fairview Road, about 15 minutes east of Vonore. It offers a paved launching area suitable for launching canoes, kayaks, and small motorized boats. The surrounding area provides ample parking, but there are no amenities like restrooms or a store on-site.

For paddlers, the Tellico River in this area is generally slow to moderate in flow, with some riffles and Class I-II rapids that are easily navigable for intermediate paddlers. Boaters should be aware of seasonal water level fluctuations and plan accordingly. Nearby campgrounds like Jake Best Campground provide options for overnight trips on the river.
