Big Eddy is a well-developed boat launch located along Dworshak Reservoir on the North Fork Clearwater River in central Idaho. The site offers convenient access to this scenic, forested reservoir nestled in mountainous terrain. Amenities include a boat ramp, marina facilities, beach area, restrooms, and running water. A park and on-site store are also available, making it a good staging point for a full day of recreation.
The site is easily accessible from US Highway 12 near Orofino—simply take State Highway 7 west toward Dworshak Dam and watch for directional signage just after crossing the North Fork Clearwater River. The reservoir itself supports a variety of water activities including boating, water-skiing, fishing, and kayaking. With six boat ramps around the reservoir, Big Eddy is one of the primary access points. Note that while camping is not available at this specific site, Dworshak State Park's Three Meadows Group Camp is nearby (within 10 miles), offering camping options for overnight trips.
