**Location & Access:** Big Lake State Forest Campground is located approximately 9.2 miles north of Covington via M-28 West, West Plains Road, and Big Lake Road in Baraga County. The site features a small concrete boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. Note that a Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into state forest campgrounds.

**About Big Lake:** The campground sits on the east shore of Big Lake, a 127-acre water body offering excellent paddling and fishing opportunities. The rustic campground provides 15 tent and small trailer sites located right on the shoreline, making it convenient for paddlers who want to camp near the water. The facility is managed by Baraga State Park and includes basic amenities such as hand pump water access and parking.
