Big Rice Lake (East)

The Big Rice Lake East access point provides public boat launch access to this 2,030-acre lake in Cass County. The ramp is open year-round and accessible during most weather conditions, making it a reliable option for paddlers and boaters throughout the seasons. This location is particularly popular with canoeists and kayakers during spring and summer months. The ramp has a relatively narrow width, so larger boats (over 12-18 feet) may experience some difficulty launching.

Big Rice Lake is a shallow waterbody with a maximum depth of 5 feet, which makes it ideal for recreational paddling and fishing. There are no motor restrictions on the lake. The area nearby features Mabel Lake Campground (available by reservation up to 6 months in advance or first-come, first-serve basis), offering convenient accommodation for extended visits.
