Big Round Lake

Big Round Lake is a 1,014-acre inland lake in Polk County near Luck, Wisconsin, offering a convenient public boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. The developed access features a concrete boat launch with parking available and pit toilets on-site. With a maximum depth of 17 feet and low water clarity, this lake is well-suited for paddlers of all skill levels, including first-time boaters. The short access approach (less than 50 yards) makes launching straightforward and hassle-free.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, and panfish, making it popular with anglers as well. The surrounding area offers additional recreational opportunities—a scenic 3.5-mile hiking trail circles the lake with wildlife viewing opportunities, and there are picnic areas and a swimming beach nearby. The calm waters of Big Round Lake provide excellent conditions for sunset and sunrise paddles, while nearby paddlers can also explore the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway system for more expansive paddling adventures.
