Big Wall Lake Wildlife Area

Big Wall Lake is a 907-acre marsh located five miles east and seven miles south of Clarion, Iowa, offering a scenic paddling and fishing destination in Wright County. The main access point is via 300th Street, which leads to a parking area at the boat ramp near Blairsburg. To reach the lake, take R-59/330th Street four miles west off I-35 to U.S. 69, then head 2.5 miles north on U.S. 69 to find the access road.

Paddlers should be aware that Big Wall Lake features dense vegetation and thick cover, with substantial weed growth throughout. Water levels can fluctuate seasonally, so it's worth checking conditions before your visit, though the ramp typically remains accessible.
