Billy Clapp Lake is a 974-acre reservoir in Grant County, Washington, managed by the Department of Wildlife as part of the Columbia Basin Project. The boat ramp at the south end of the lake is the only public launch facility available, making it the primary access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. Summer Falls State Park on the north end offers day-use access, but the south-end ramp provides the only dedicated launch infrastructure on the lake.
This access site is ideal for recreational boating and fishing, with good shoreline access from the launch area. The lake's 1,010-acre surface area offers ample room for paddling and exploration, with surrounding lands managed as a wildlife reserve. The site is particularly popular for kokanee fishing, especially during late winter and early spring, though the calm water conditions make it suitable for paddlers year-round. Plan to launch from the south end and confirm current conditions with the Department of Wildlife before your visit.
