Birch Creek offers excellent access to Somerville Lake with a well-equipped two-lane boat ramp suitable for all watercraft types, including kayaks and canoes. The facility features a courtesy dock, vehicle parking, cleaning stations, and a restroom, making it convenient for launching and take-out. This is a day-use area, though nearby Lake Somerville Marina & Campground provides overnight camping options within 10 miles.

As part of Birch Creek State Park, this access point provides paddlers with entry to a large, calm lake environment ideal for kayaking and canoeing. The lake is known for good water quality and is popular for paddling, swimming, and fishing. A fishing jetty is also available at this unit.
