Birch Lake

Birch Lake Access provides a public boat ramp for paddlers and boaters in Presque Isle, Vilas County. The concrete surface ramp features an 8% slope with an adjacent boarding dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. Water depth at the ramp is consistently greater than 3 feet, allowing for reliable launching and landing throughout most water conditions.

Birch Lake is a 506-acre lake with a maximum depth of 45 feet and moderately clear water, offering good opportunities for paddling, fishing, and boating. The lake supports populations of musky, walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish. Visitors looking to extend their trip can find camping available at nearby Henry Lake Camp on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that on-site payment may be available through the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature.
