Bivalve Harbor is a well-developed public access point on the Nanticoke River in Wicomico County, Maryland, located approximately 15-20 miles south of Salisbury. The site features dual concrete boat ramps suitable for kayaks, canoes, and medium-sized powerboats, along with a sandy landing area for additional launching flexibility. Paved parking accommodates roughly 25 boat trailers, and the facility includes restrooms and other amenities to support paddlers and boaters.
The Nanticoke River at this location is characterized by open water conditions with a strong current and a large navigation channel. Paddlers should be prepared for tidal influences and stronger water movement, making it suitable for intermediate to experienced paddlers. As part of the Nanticoke Water Trail system—which includes over 25 public access points along the river and Fishing Bay—Bivalve Harbor serves as a convenient launch point for exploring multiple paddling routes and itineraries throughout the region.
