Black Beach Campground provides convenient access to Alcova Reservoir with two public boat ramps, making it an excellent launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The campground features 20 campsites with one fully ADA-accessible site, three restrooms, and a large group shelter. Water and utility hookups are not available at this location. The site is situated in a scenic high plains setting near central Wyoming's Platte-Kansas Rivers ecosystem.
This access point is ideal for paddlers looking to explore Alcova Reservoir and access the surrounding recreation opportunities in Natrona County. Nearby amenities include two additional campgrounds—Golden Currant and Pete's Draw—within 10 miles, as well as the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge. The area is also close to the North Platte River, Wyoming's premier floatable waterway and renowned fishing destination. Plan to arrive during daylight hours, and note that quiet hours at the campground run from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
