About This Access Site
The Black Creek boat ramp at Cypress Creek Landing provides convenient access to this scenic South Mississippi river. The cement boat ramp allows for easy launching of kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. This headwater stream of the Gulf-bound Black Creek flows at a moderate average velocity of 2.19 feet per second, with a total drop of nearly 12,000 feet over its 762-mile length.

Paddlers can enjoy a tranquil day floating along the creek, with opportunities for fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The surrounding area offers a small picnic site and restrooms. Campsites are available at the Cypress Creek Landing facility, which is operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Boaters should be aware of the creek's average 15.5 ft/mile gradient and plan accordingly for their skill level and vessel. Overall, this access point offers a great launching spot to experience the natural beauty of Black Creek.
