About This Access Site
Black Lake near Park Rapids offers a public boat ramp managed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, featuring a recently remodeled launch facility with an improved dock and two toilets. The access point is conveniently located just west of I-5 Exit 102—take Trosper Road west for 2.6 miles, then follow Belmore-Black Lake Road south for 1 mile before heading west on 66th Avenue and south on Fairview Street. Two private resorts in the area also provide alternative ramp access if needed.

The lake supports a variety of fish species including largemouth and smallmouth bass, yellow perch, black crappie, and brown bullhead, making it popular with anglers. Paddlers and boaters will find this a well-maintained facility suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. For overnight stays, Lake Gillette Campground and Gillette Campground are nearby reservation options within 10 miles. The area also provides access to the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge and Colville National Forest for extended recreation opportunities.
