Blevins Bend is a popular boat ramp and public access site located on the Watauga River in Johnson City, Tennessee. This TWRA-maintained ramp provides an important launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to explore the scenic Watauga River.
The Watauga is a medium-sized river with Class I-II whitewater that flows through the Appalachian foothills. The Blevins Bend access is situated on a relatively calm, flatwater section of the river, making it well-suited for a wide range of paddlers and boaters. This site is particularly popular with anglers targeting the river's healthy trout and bass populations.
An added benefit of the Blevins Bend ramp is its accessibility - it is the first ramp on the Watauga River that is wheelchair-friendly, allowing mobility-impaired users to more easily access the water. Nearby amenities include the Cardens Bluff Campground, about 10 miles away. Boaters should always check water levels and local conditions before launching, as the Watauga's flow can fluctuate.
