Blewetts Grave Boat Ramp provides access to the Pee Dee River, a major river system in North Carolina. The ramp is located just off Highway 74, about 9 miles north of the intersection with NC 109.
This access point is well-suited for kayaks, canoes, and small powerboats. The Pee Dee River is a large river, with an average flow of over 9,000 cubic feet per second and a total drop of 210 feet over its 65-mile length. The river's average gradient of 3.2 feet per mile creates a moderate current that paddlers should be prepared to handle.
Boaters should be aware that there is a dam located upstream of the Blewetts Grave access, with no portage trail around it. It's critical to avoid approaching the dam, as the conditions can be extremely hazardous. The boat ramp and surrounding area provide good access for recreational activities like fishing, but the deep sections of the river are not easily accessible from this site.
