This single cement boat ramp provides access to Blue Hill Harbor and Blue Hill Bay in Hancock County. Located in East Blue Hill, the ramp is serviced by a float and is best used around high tide, as it becomes unusable at low tide due to tidal flats. To reach the site, take Route 15 south from Route 1 just north of Bucksport.
**Navigation Tips:** When entering Blue Hill Harbor, follow the marked channel carefully—leave cans #1 and #3 to port, can #5 to port, and nun #2 to starboard while rounding Sculpin Point, which can be submerged at high tide. Once inside the harbor, you'll find good anchorage and sheltered paddling waters. Keep in mind that outhauls are designated for the right side of the ramp, and watch that dinghies don't drift into the launch area.
This is a good option for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore coastal Maine's protected waters, though planning your launch around tidal conditions is essential for a successful outing.
