The Blue River boat ramp in Leavenworth provides public access to the Ohio River in Crawford County, Indiana. Located at the mouth of the Blue River where it meets the Ohio, this access point serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the Ohio River. To reach the boat launch, you'll need to cross the concrete Greenway Trail that runs along the top of the floodwall levee—watch for directional signage at the facility. Fishing is permitted at the launch area.
Parking is available, though signs are posted to discourage parking directly on the entry road or launch ramp itself. The nearby Buzzard Roost Campground (reservable) is within 10 miles if you're planning an extended paddling trip. For paddlers, note that this is the Ohio River pool system, which is relatively calm and manageable compared to free-flowing sections. Other access points in the region include Horseshoe Bend Marina (1 mile west) and the Old Lock and Dam 44 site just east of Leavenworth, giving paddlers options for launching or taking out at different river locations.
