About This Access Site
Blue Springs Lake is a 720-acre impoundment located in Lee's Summit and Blue Springs, Missouri, offering a popular access point for paddlers and small boaters. The Woods Chapel Road boat ramp, situated in the southeast corner of the lake near the north end of the SW Woods Chapel Road Bridge, is specifically designated for canoes, kayaks, and other small watercraft. The ramp features a single concrete lane with gravel parking available.

**Important Information:** A Jackson County permit is required to launch any boat at this facility. The lake is maintained by Jackson County Parks and Recreation under U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ownership. In addition to paddling, the lake supports fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities, with amenities including a public beach and six picnic shelters. Recently, brush piles were added to the northern end of the lake near the dam to enhance fish habitat. Nearby paddlers should note that Longview Lake and Longview Campground are located within 10 miles for additional recreation options.
