About This Access Site
Blue Springs Lake is a 720-acre recreational lake located in Blue Springs and Lee's Summit, Missouri, within Fleming Park southeast of Kansas City. The Woods Chapel Road boat ramp is situated in the southeast corner of the lake at the north end of the SW Woods Chapel Road Bridge and features a one-lane concrete ramp with gravel parking. **This ramp is specifically designated for canoes, kayaks, and other small boats**, making it an ideal access point for paddlers.

The lake is managed by Jackson County Parks and Recreation, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as the property owner. A county permit is required to launch a boat. Beyond paddling, the lake offers a range of amenities including a public swimming beach, six picnic shelters, and opportunities for primitive biking and hiking. Recent habitat improvements, including brush piles added in 2024 near the dam area, enhance the fishing experience. The relatively large size of the lake makes it suitable for day trips with diverse paddling opportunities.
