About This Access Site
Blues Landing, also known as Hunts Bluff, is a public boat access point on the Great Pee Dee River located between Society Hill and Cheraw in Marlboro County. The facility offers parking and a boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. This access point provides entry to a scenic section of the river that is part of the SC Revolutionary Rivers Water Trail and designated as a State Scenic River.

From Blues Landing, paddlers can expect a relatively leisurely float downstream through densely forested banks. Beyond Dunham Bluff, the river begins to wind through tighter bends with large sandbars, offering more dynamic paddling. This makes the access suitable for both beginner paddlers looking for a mellow float and experienced paddlers seeking more engaging water. The river corridor supports popular activities including fishing, wildlife viewing, and birding, making it an attractive destination for multi-purpose recreation.
