Boat Ramp Road provides access to the massive 114,000-acre Sam Rayburn Reservoir via a concrete boat ramp capable of handling all vessel types, including kayaks and canoes. Located in Angelina County, this is a year-round access point to one of Texas's largest recreational lakes. Note that the ramp may become unusable during periods of low water levels, so check current lake conditions before planning your trip.
The reservoir sits within the scenic Big Thicket region of East Texas, offering diverse paddling opportunities surrounded by native flora including orchids and insect-eating plants, with abundant wildlife viewing potential. Nearby Boykin Springs Camping (reservable) is within 10 miles for those planning multi-day trips. An activity pass is required for access—purchase through Recreation.gov. For more information, contact the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce at (936) 634-6644.
