The Bobby Brown State Park boat ramp provides access to the Savannah River and the expansive Clarks Hill Lake. This is a year-round boat launch located in Elberton, Georgia, part of the larger J. Strom Thurmond Lake recreation area.
The boat ramp is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The Savannah River is a broad, navigable waterway in this area, flowing into the vast Clarks Hill Lake. This man-made reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water sports. While campgrounds and other recreational facilities are nearby, the boat launch itself is a simple, no-frills access point - no fees or reservations required.
Paddlers and anglers should be aware of typical lake and river conditions, including changing water levels. The park website advises that alcoholic beverages are not permitted in public use areas. For overnight stays, a seasonal campground is available within 10 miles. Visitors can also explore the park's wooded trails and take a self-guided land navigation course during their visit.
