About This Access Site
Bogles Wharf provides convenient public access to the Chester River at its confluence with the Chesapeake Bay. The concrete ramp accommodates small to medium-size boats and is wide enough (approximately 15 feet) for standard trailer launching. The site includes two fishing piers, portable toilet facilities, and a parking area. **Important:** A Kent County trailer permit is required to launch at this ramp. The location is easily accessible via car—take Bogles Wharf Road southeast from Eastern Neck Road in Rock Hall for about three-quarters of a mile to reach the ramp area.

Kayakers and canoeists can also hand-launch small watercraft at nearby Ingleside Recreation Area. The Chester River in this area supports striped bass, white perch, spot, seatrout, croaker, and blue crab, making it popular for both fishing and paddling. Bogles Wharf sits within the 2,285-acre Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, offering paddlers access to a scenic tidal river ecosystem. All Maryland state fishing regulations apply. Plan ahead to obtain your Kent County trailer permit before arriving at the launch site.
