About This Access Site
Booth Park is a unique boat-in-only facility located 7 miles south of Coeur d'Alene on the scenic waters of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The park features a southwest-facing launch with open water access to the northern end of the lake, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats launching to explore this renowned alpine lake. A gated service road provides walk-in access for those without vehicles, though the primary access is by water.

This first-come, first-serve facility offers 16 tent camping sites, two mooring docks, a swimming beach, vault toilets, and drinking water—making it an excellent base for multi-day paddling trips or overnight stays. Overnight mooring and camping sites cost $20/night, while group picnic shelter reservations are $80. The campground includes a playground and picnic areas, though amenities are basic and typical of backcountry facilities.

Before launching, paddlers should note that Lake Coeur d'Alene is a large mountain lake with variable conditions. The site emphasizes responsible recreation and outdoor ethics. Nearby paddling destinations include Popcorn Island on Killarney Lake (accessible by boat), which offers additional camping and picnic opportunities. For additional launch options closer to town, the City of Coeur d'Alene maintains the 3rd Street Boat Ramp downtown near Front Avenue.
