Boston Harbor

Boston Harbor provides convenient saltwater access to Budd Inlet and the surrounding Puget Sound waterways, including Eld Inlet, Dana Passage, Squaxin Passage, and Peale Passage. Located at the northeast tip of Budd Inlet near Harstine and Squaxin Islands, this site is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to explore the greater inlet system. The launch area includes a dedicated parking lot and boat ramp managed by Boston Harbor Marina.

**Important Notes for Users:** A strict no-wake zone extends well out from the marina into Budd Inlet—enforcement is active, so observe speed restrictions carefully. Plan your launch through Boston Harbor Marina (located at 1022 Marine Drive NE), where you'll pay your launch fee at the office before backing your boat down the ramp. Marina amenities include restrooms, fuel, a hardware store, and nautical charts. Nearby, you'll also find alternative access points like Zittel's Marina on Johnson Point to the north.

The area is adjacent to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing alongside your paddling or boating adventure. This location serves as a gateway to some of Puget Sound's most productive and scenic waters.
