About This Access Site
Bowdish Reservoir in Glocester offers a concrete plank boat ramp with adjacent gravel parking, located off Route 44 at the eastern end of the reservoir. This is an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small recreational boats. **Important:** Motors exceeding 10 horsepower are prohibited on this water body. The reservoir is popular for fishing and provides a calm paddling environment suitable for various skill levels.

**Access Note:** The boat ramp is located at the campground and gate access may be required. Those with campground reservations must present a printed permit at the gate and display it in their windshield while parked. Day-use paddlers should verify current access policies before visiting. West Thompson Lake Campground is available nearby if you're planning an overnight trip (reservable through standard channels).

The area offers additional recreation opportunities within 10 miles, including Hodges Village Dam with canoe access to the French River system and over 15 miles of maintained trails, as well as West Hill Dam with swimming, picnicking, and hiking options for pre- or post-paddle activities.
