About This Access Site
The Bowstring Lake Landing provides a concrete boat ramp for easy access to this expansive 9,528-acre lake located approximately 14 miles northwest of Deer River near the intersection of State Highway 6 and County Road 14. The northeast ramp is one of the lake's three access points and is noted as one of the more modern launch facilities on the lake, making it a reliable option for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats of various sizes.

This is a day-use access area with no reservations required. The lake supports excellent fishing for walleye, bass, bluegill, and other panfish, and the substantial size of Bowstring Lake offers plenty of room for paddling exploration. For those planning an extended trip, Cut Foot Horse Campground is available about 10 miles away, and the nearby Mississippi River Headwaters and Winnibigosh Lake provide additional paddling opportunities in the region.
