Boyd Lake State Park offers a convenient boat ramp and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized watercraft on the 1,700-acre Boyd Lake. The main boat ramp is located on the west side of the park, north of the entrance station, and provides a 6-lane paved launch area.
Boating on Boyd Lake is a popular activity, with opportunities for water skiing, fishing, and general recreational use. The lake has a marina that offers boat rentals, fuel, bait, and other supplies. However, the boat ramps and lake are closed to all boating activities from December 1st until the ice has fully melted, typically in the spring.
For paddlers looking to explore the lake, there are also hiking trails along the shoreline that can provide access points. Boyd Lake is situated in a picturesque setting, with the Flatiron mountains providing a scenic backdrop. Visitors are encouraged to check the park's current policies and conditions before planning a trip to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
