The Boysen Reservoir boat ramp near Shoshoni provides convenient access to one of Wyoming's premier fishing and recreation destinations. This ramp offers good launching facilities with a boat dock available, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The reservoir spans approximately 20,000 surface acres with 77 miles of shoreline, providing plenty of room for paddling and exploration.
Boysen Reservoir is known for excellent year-round fishing (with a Wyoming State fishing license) for trout, walleye, perch, and ling, so expect to share the water with anglers. The site is located on the Wind River approximately 20 miles downstream from Boysen Dam. For paddlers planning a visit, check current water level information before launching, as reservoir levels can fluctuate. Additional access points and boat ramps are available around the reservoir, including Loop 1 and Loop 2 on the west side, which also offer camping and shoreline road access for those planning extended trips.
