About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Brickyard Ferry is a small hand-launch boat ramp located on Bennetts Point Road near the bridge crossing the Ashepoo River in Colleton County, SC. From the intersection of Bennetts Point Road and Leisure Lane in Green Pond, travel north on Bennetts Point Road approximately 3.6 miles; the ramp entrance is on the left just after the bridge.

**Facilities & Conditions:** This is a modest gravel ramp with ample parking available directly at the launch area below the bridge. The ramp is clear and wide enough to accommodate multiple vehicles. The site works well for kayakers and canoeists launching into the Ashepoo River. Note that nearby Bennetts Point is a working commercial seafood dock rather than a recreational area.

**Paddling Context:** The Ashepoo River is part of the ACE Basin (Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto rivers), one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the East Coast. The area is protected within the Ernest F. Hollings ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge and National Estuarine Research Reserve, offering excellent opportunities for paddling through pristine wetlands and observing wildlife and migratory birds. This access point provides a gateway to explore this significant coastal ecosystem.
