Bridgeton boat ramp provides access to the Neuse River, one of North Carolina's major waterways that flows 252 miles from its headwaters to the Atlantic Ocean. Located in New Bern in Craven County, this access point serves as a gateway to a significant drainage system covering 5,535 square miles. The Neuse River at this location is a large, well-established river with an average flow of about 6,400 cubic feet per second and relatively gentle slope, making it a major transportation and recreation corridor through the coastal plain.
