The Broad River Campground boat ramp provides access to the Broad River and Clarks Hill Lake, part of the J. Strom Thurmond Lake system. This is a rural, historic area along the southern bank where the Broad River meets the Savannah River. The campground features a boat ramp, as well as campsites, electrical hookups, a dump station, and other amenities.
For paddlers and small boaters, the Broad River in this area is relatively wide and slow-moving, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and johnboats. Clarks Hill Lake, formed by the Thurmond Dam, offers more open water for motorized boats and larger craft. The boat ramp provides convenient access to explore both the river and the broader lake system. Visitors should be aware of the $5 daily boat launch fee, as well as restrictions on off-road vehicles. This quiet, scenic area is a great option for those looking to spend time on the water, whether camping, fishing, or just enjoying a day on the river.
