About This Access Site
Brookshire's Recreation Park offers a wide boat ramp in fair condition with a courtesy dock, making it a convenient access point to Lake Palestine and the Neches River. Located in Shadybrook near Cherokee County, the site includes a parking lot and is easily reached from Tyler by taking Texas 155 south 10 miles, then following FM 344 east to Teasleville, FM 346 across Chimney Creek Cove, and FM 3504 for 2 miles to the ramp entrance.

This section of the Neches River is a quality recreational waterway suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating. Paddlers should be aware that numerous sandbars are scattered throughout this reach, which offer excellent opportunities for camping and day-use stops. The area around US 59 (approximately 3 miles southwest of Diboll) serves as a reference point for understanding the waterway's layout and distance estimates for trip planning.
