Brown's Ford Access

Brown's Ford Access is a Missouri Department of Conservation facility offering convenient access to the Big River near Dittmer in Jefferson County. The 1.47-acre site features a concrete boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Amenities include parking, picnic tables, and restroom facilities, making it a practical base for day trips or starting point for longer floats.

This location is popular for both fishing and paddling. The Big River in this area is known for its scenic character, with notable bluffs and relatively undeveloped banks. A common float route takes paddlers 18.3 miles downstream to Morse Mill Park. The area is designated as a Smallmouth Bass Trophy zone, making it attractive for anglers as well. To reach Brown's Ford from Cedar Hill, take Highway 30 west about 7 miles, then south on Route Y for 9 miles, and turn right onto Brown's Ford Road.
