Browns Landing

Browns Landing provides boat ramp access to Lake Palestine on the Neches River near Chandler in Henderson County. Located on the west side of the lake, the site features a ramp and parking lot. From Tyler, take Texas 155 south approximately 10 miles, then turn east on FM 344 toward Teasleville. Turn right on FM 346 (crossing Chimney Creek cove), then right again on FM 3504 at the far end of the bridge. The ramp is located 2 miles ahead on the right.

The Neches River watershed spans 10,000 square miles and flows 416 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Lake Palestine and B.A. Steinhagen Lake are the only two reservoirs on the river. Paddlers should note that while the river generally has adequate flow for canoe and kayak trips, water levels and speed vary seasonally—expect slower paddling and shallower conditions during periods with limited rainfall. This makes Browns Landing a convenient access point for exploring both the lake environment and the river's lower stretches when conditions permit.
