Brown's Landing State Park in Junction City provides direct access to the Willamette River via a boat ramp, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Located at the end of Fischer Lane off Crystal Lake Drive on the southeast side of town, the concrete ramp allows easy loading and unloading of vessels. The site is well-positioned for paddlers planning multi-day trips or day floats on this popular section of the Willamette.
The surrounding area offers good amenities for extended visits. Four campgrounds operate within 10 miles, including South Twin Lake and Graham Corral Horse Campgrounds (both reservable), giving paddlers overnight options. Additional recreation is nearby, including the West Eugene Wetlands for wildlife viewing and Fern Ridge Lake just 12 miles away. Wildlife is active in the area—watch for osprey, Canada geese, beavers, and other wildlife along the river corridor.
**Practical Note:** A boater parking permit system is available for seasonal use (February through May), so paddlers planning spring trips should check current permit requirements before launching. The Willamette River in this section is suitable for various paddle craft and offers accessible floating to downstream destinations like Corvallis and Albany.
