The Buckeye Lake boat ramp in Coleraine provides convenient access to this expansive 3,100-acre lake in Itasca County. This access point is one of nine launch ramps available on Buckeye Lake, making it easy to get your kayak, canoe, or motorboat on the water. The lake is designated as unlimited horsepower, but paddlers will find plenty of company from canoeists, rowboats, and sailboats as well.
The area offers good amenities for a full day on the water. Local marinas nearby provide fuel and supplies, and seasonal docks are available through a lottery system at Fairfield Beach. For extended trips, Pokegama Dam Campground is located within 10 miles and offers reservable campsites. The lake is also adjacent to the Mississippi River Headwaters and Pokegama Lake area, providing opportunities to explore multiple water bodies in the region.
