Located in Thornville, the Fairfield Beach boat ramp provides excellent access to Buckeye Lake, a sprawling 3,300-acre recreational lake spanning Fairfield, Licking, and Perry counties. This concrete ramp is 40 feet wide with a 10% slope, making it suitable for launching a variety of watercraft including kayaks, canoes, and larger recreational boats. The ramp is one of nine public launch facilities around the lake, ensuring good access options during peak paddling seasons.
Paddlers and boaters will find this a well-developed facility at Ohio's oldest state park. In addition to the boat ramp, the site offers seasonal dock rentals (135 available), nearby marinas with fuel and supplies, and multiple swimming areas with parking and restroom facilities. The large size and calm nature of Buckeye Lake make it ideal for recreational paddling, fishing, and watersports of all types. Plan to arrive early during weekends and holidays, as this popular destination can experience heavy use during peak season.
