About This Access Site
Located in Perry County on the Middle Fork Kentucky River, Buckhorn Lake State Park Marina offers a full-service launching facility for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The marina features two concrete boat ramps, 95 open slips, a courtesy dock, and ample parking for vehicles and trailers. This is a developed, accessible launch point suitable for various water craft and skill levels.

The facility is part of Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park, situated in the scenic Cumberland Plateau region of eastern Kentucky's Appalachian Mountains. In addition to launching, the marina provides fuel and supplies. The lake is popular for fishing (white crappie, trout, and bluegill are common catches) and general water sports. Pontoon and fishing boat rentals are available if you want to explore the water without your own vessel. Two nearby campgrounds—Buckhorn Campground and Trace Branch Campground—offer overnight accommodations within 10 miles if you're planning an extended visit.
