Bucks of Gaines Creek is a public boat ramp access site located on the south arm of Eufaula Lake in McAlester, Oklahoma. This 4-lane concrete boat ramp provides easy access to the lake for kayakers, canoeists, and power boaters.
Eufaula Lake is a large reservoir on the Canadian River, covering over 105,000 acres at normal pool level. The south arm where this access is located tends to be calmer and more sheltered than the main lake body. Paddlers can explore coves and inlets along the shoreline, while power boaters have ample room to cruise. The lake offers a variety of fishing opportunities, with populations of bass, crappie, and catfish.
On-site amenities at Bucks of Gaines Creek include a large parking area and courtesy docks. A full-service marina is also located nearby, providing fuel, supplies, and other services. Visitors should note that personal watercraft (e.g. jet skis) are not allowed on Eufaula Lake. Boaters and paddlers should always check current lake levels and conditions before launching.
