About This Access Site
Bugbee Creek provides access to Lake Meredith, a large reservoir nestled in the Texas Panhandle near Fritch. This off-road vehicle and horseback riding area is located on the northwest side of the lake off FM 1913, surrounded by cottonwood and soapberry trees. Note that **direct shoreline access from this site is difficult**, and a public boat ramp is located nearby—be prepared to potentially access the water from an alternative location. The steep sides of the reservoir limit landing opportunities along the shoreline.

For paddlers and boaters planning to use this area, facilities are minimal: vault-evaporator toilets only with no drinking water available. The site is non-reservable and not ADA-accessible. Boat docks are available at open boat ramps throughout the lake. For more information or to confirm current conditions and exact ramp access, contact the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area headquarters at (806) 857-3151. Several nearby campgrounds (Harbor Bay, Chimney Hollow, and Blue West) offer camping options within 10 miles if you're planning an extended visit.
