About This Access Site
Bulltown Campground offers convenient water access to Burnsville Lake via an on-site boat ramp, making it an ideal base for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring this central West Virginia reservoir. The campground features 204 campsites (reservable May-September, available April-November), along with amenities including showers, restrooms, dump station, and a beach area about a mile away. A $5 day-use fee applies for non-campers visiting the facility.

Located near the headwaters of Burnsville Lake in Braxton County, this access point is easily reached from I-79: take Exit 67 (Flatwoods) and travel north on U.S. 19 for 10 miles, or Exit 91 (Roanoke) and travel south for 28 miles. For planning and reservations, contact the campground at (304) 452-8006. Beyond paddling, the site offers historical interest as the location of a Civil War battle, with reenactments held twice yearly.

The campground is near the headwaters of Burnsville Lake on the Little Kanawha River. The hilly, forested region lies at the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, just west of the Allegheny Plateau.
Nearby Attractions
A trip to the Bulltown Historic Area Visitor Center is highly recommended. The Burnsville Lake Wildlife Management Area is due east. For camping convenience, two general stores are located within three miles of the campground.
