Bumping Lake Public Boat Landing offers convenient access to Bumping Lake on the south shore near Goose Prairie. The USFS-managed facility features a good quality boat ramp with adjacent parking and a picnic area with tables and fire pits along the shoreline. This is the primary public launch option on the lake's south side, making it an excellent starting point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the lake.
Located approximately 43 miles west of Naches via Highway 12 W and Highway 410 W (near milepost 88), the access site is easily reached by turning onto Bumping River Road/Forest Road 1800 and traveling 11.2 miles. The facility does not require reservations and is first-come, first-served. Nearby camping options include the reservable Bumping Lake Campground and Pleasant Valley Campground within a short distance, making this an ideal base for multi-day paddling trips.
For those seeking additional amenities, Bumping Lake Marina operates a fee-based private launch on the northern side of the lake across the dam. Plan accordingly for your trip, as this public south shore facility is the primary non-commercial access point for the water body.
