About This Access Site
Burt Lake Maple Bay offers a well-developed DNR boat launch near Brutus on the west side of Burt Lake, providing excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility features a paved ramp, large day-use parking area, and pit toilet. The launch is located at the mouth of the Maple River near Maple Bay, where you'll find a sandy shoreline suitable for both launching and landing small craft.

The access site sits adjacent to the rustic Maple Bay State Forest Campground, making it convenient for paddlers planning overnight trips. The area is ideal for exploring Burt Lake's calmer waters and is near the Burt Lake Non-Motorized Trail and local nature preserves. This location is the primary access point on the northern end of the lake; additional private ramps are available in Indian River to the south.
