Busse Lake

Busse Lake in Elk Grove Village offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and electric motor boaters via concrete boat launch ramps located off East Higgins Road near the North Pool. The Busse Lake Boating Center features two dedicated trailered launches designed to accommodate canoes, kayaks, rowboats, sailboats, and boats with electric trolling motors. An accessible canoe landing with an interlocking paver surface is also available. Note that gas motors are not permitted—only electric motors are allowed on the water.

The site provides excellent amenities for paddlers, including a paved bike path system with numerous parking areas throughout the forest preserve. Boat rentals (rowboats, canoes, and kayaks) are available at the boating center concession if you don't have your own equipment. The lake consists of multiple impoundments of Salt Creek, with the North Pool offering the most straightforward access from the main launch area, while the South Pool is accessible via a separate southern boat ramp.
